Tim

Hey Eve!

This is our first entry. We have spent 3 weeks trying to figure this blogger deal out. I am still not sure how this is going to work, because you aren't even here yet, but if Carey and Thomas are all about it, so are we. Besides, you won't even be able to read until you are at least 6 months old (that's a joke!). But seriously, your Mom and Dad are pretty smart and they are going to wear you out with books and stuff. More about all of that later. Anyway, I am one of your Grandpas, but just call me Tim (wait a minute, I guess you can't talk yet either) (that's also a joke!). I'm a little silly, but I guess you'll figure that out later. I am going to try and drop you a note once in a while and most of my thoughts will be random, but hopefully they will make you smile someday. Please excuse me if I talk about your Mom a little more than your Dad. Obviously, I know her a little better than him because I am her Dad, but we all love both of them very much. You won't believe this later, but your Dad is a pretty quiet guy. And maybe, just maybe, if I post enough thoughts, everyone else will join in and you will get some pretty good stuff for future reference about all of your family. If not, you're stuck with me and Carey. OK, time to start! First of all, I am not sure about your name. It wasn't one of my suggestions, so if you don't like it, don't blame me. It is growing on us, but I keep thinking about roofs (that's another joke!). I have just never known anyone named Eve. We always compare names to other people or things with the same name, thus you do have a pretty clean slate. No pre-conceived notions. Anyway, you were a surprise. Dad's don't ever like to acknowledge their daughter's are having sex, even with their husbands, but I guess that's what created you, so that's all good. Everyone is extremely excited because you are the first G'Baby in our family. There are some pretty cool women on both sides of the family, so while you will have pretty big shoes to fill, you definately have the foundation to be an "exceptional" person surrounded by love. Your Great Grama Sortore was also a crazy cat. Very, very bright and full of love all of the time, but still a little silly. That's a whole series of stories in itself. Your Mom's mom Grama Sortore is also pretty cool and is real excited about this whole deal. Then, there is your Mom, Carey Elizabeth. She's all about being a mom herself, but she was also a pretty crazy cat! More about that later too! Eve, we have sooooo much to talk about, I will probably wear this thing out, but hopefully you won't be a dickhead and will enjoy reading this someday! Love, Tim.
